Position Overview: PDT is seeking an innovative and experienced Director of Development who can work with its executive leadership to create and implement a robust development program with an emphasis on diversifying its donor portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Deputy Director and key board members, the Director of Development will develop and execute against a strategic development plan, creating, building upon and securing significant relationships with high potential donors, private foundations and corporations. Bringing a strong alignment with the mission and values of PDT, the Director of Development will thrive in an entrepreneurial and outcome-driven environment, be flexible to changing needs and contribute strategically to the overall mission.
Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement a targeted, strategic fundraising plan that includes prospect research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship development for short and long term fundraising campaigns.
•Build and manage a high functioning development program, leveraging as broad an array of giving opportunities as possible, including multi-year gifts, planned and estate giving
•Maintain a personal portfolio of high capacity and mid-level donors with major gift potential, including corporate, foundation and individual funding sources
•Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, grants, reports, mailings and acknowledgements required to support ongoing fundraising activities
•Partner closely with the Executive Director and Deputy Director to strategize new ways to engage and recognize donors
•Oversee a donor relations/fundraising data system that ensures appropriate and timely coding and acknowledgement of donors and reporting for all stakeholders
•Innovate new ways to integrate donors into PDT projects and initiatives with the goal of building donor-national partner identification
•Manage board relations and engage board members in playing an active role in fundraising
Additional Qualifications:
•Several years of fundraising experience, including significant success in soliciting and closing major gifts from corporations, foundations and individual sources. Proven record of successful management of a portfolio of major donors and knowledge of the major donor market in the U.S.; experience working internationally preferred
•Experience or interest in building a high-functioning development program from the ground up
•Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including written and oral communication, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
•Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving work environment; willingness to take risks
•Demonstrated passion for the mission, vision and values of PDT; enthusiasm for international development and entrepreneurship
•Ability and willingness to travel 40-60%, including international travel to PDT sites
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

The Job:
The Kiva Fellows Program (KFP) Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, and offboarding of Kiva Fellows. The KFP Coordinator will work inside all of the program’s systems and directly oversee the experiences of every potential and current applicant, as well as all active and former fellows. As the KFP Coordinator ensures that the program is meeting its deadlines and providing superior customer service, s/he will also innovate within the existing systems in order to drive the program’s improvement. With a deep understanding of the experiences of all potential, current, and former Kiva Fellows, the KFP Coordinator will be responsible for shifting program focus or steering adjustments in order to best serve all stakeholders at Kiva and at our microfinance institution field partners.
Responsibilities:
• Screen Kiva Fellows with high quality and prompt customer service
• Design and run Kiva Fellows trainings at Kiva headquarters, including curriculum and logistics
• Coordinate end-of-fellowship activities with the aim to increase knowledge transfer and consolidate findings
• Ensure that the quality of the experience of each Kiva Fellow remains high
• Plan and implement recruitment efforts to attract high-quality Kiva Fellows
• Work with KFP Team interns to maximize their impact
• Liaise with other teams at Kiva in order to coordinate needs
• Maintain and innovate systems that support Kiva Fellows and sharing of information
The Ideal Candidate:
• Previously worked with developing world volunteer program or served as a Kiva Fellow
• Experience working abroad in the developing world
• Program design experience
• Superior customer service orientation, both for internal and external audiences
• Adept at learning new computer tools, familiarity with Salesforce or a comparable CRM a plus
• Great team player
• Strong public speaking skills a plus
• Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
• Someone with a “ready to help” attitude, friendly personality
• Evolved time management skills and a proven track record of managing projects
• Fluency in a foreign language (esp. Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic) a plus
• BA or equivalent degree required
